Hello

I'm Christine.
Welcome to Heart Centered Yoga.
I am so Happy that you're here.

My Story

Just a few years ago, My life looked completely different.  I had a beautiful family, and was the owner of a successful and busy business. Sounds amazing, right?  To say my life was hectic would have been an understatement.  My job was all consuming. I worked long hours, all of which were on my feet. I was in the food service business, and was involved in customers big life events, (think birthdays, weddings, anything celebratory) and expectations were high. As a people pleaser, I was always working extra hard to make sure everything was perfect. The stress of my job carried over into the other parts of my life. I wasn't as good of a mom as I wanted to be, and I wasn't showing up in my relationships the way that I wanted to. Over the years I also developed various health issues, the stress of my life taking a huge toll on my mind and my body. I knew that if I didn't make some serious changes in my every day, if I didn't make it a priority to take care of my self, there wouldn't be much quality of life left for me to enjoy.

Yoga was something that I had done, on and off, for most of my adult life. I knew that when I practiced yoga, I just felt better. I felt stronger, I felt happier, and I felt more at ease in my own body. I knew that I felt more centered, and more able to show up for life in the way that I knew that I could. In wanting to make my life look different, I made a promise to myself that I was going to become a Certified Yoga Teacher by the time I turned 40. I started to make small changes, one decision at a time, and began to prioritize my health, and my well-being. I started to see my life changing, slowly, but surely. The toxic parts of my life started to fall away, and I became better equipped to manage any stressors that came up. I knew that I wasn't the only person who felt the overwhelm, the anxiety, the pressures of life. I knew that if I could make the decision to have yoga be a part of my regular life, and to become a teacher, I could help others feel the same way I felt. I knew that I could be of service to people in a way that could change their lives, just like it changed mine.

The way I teach Yoga is truly from my Heart. I want everyone who comes to my classes to feel comfortable. To let go of any preconceived ideas of what a yoga class should be, or should look like. We are all there to focus on our breath, to move our bodies and to spend time on ourselves, regardless of our abilities. Yoga has been a gift to me and my life, and I can't wait to share that gift with you.
